Berwick Lodge Bristol
Berwick Lodge is one of those venues that feels a bit tucked away in Bristol, but in a good way. It’s got character, it’s a bit different, and it doesn’t feel like a typical wedding venue. If you’re planning a wedding at Berwick Lodge, you’ve probably already seen how unique it is. From the ceremony through to the evening, everything flows naturally without needing loads of structure or moving people around too much.
This wedding at Berwick Lodge was exactly that. Relaxed, good energy, and everything just happening as it should without needing to force anything.
ABOUT BERWICK LODGE WEDDINGS
Berwick Lodge is known for its gothic style and character, which gives it a completely different feel compared to more traditional venues. The ceremony space works really well for smaller, more intimate setups, without losing atmosphere. Outside, you’ve got the gardens and surrounding grounds, which are ideal for drinks and letting the day breathe a bit. Nothing feels overly formal, and guests tend to spread out naturally. From a photography point of view, it’s a venue where moments just happen without needing to stage anything. The mix of indoor spaces and outdoor areas means there’s always something going on.
THE WAY I SHOOT AT BERWICK LODGE
I’m not here to turn your wedding into a photoshoot. Berwick Lodge already has a strong look to it, so the last thing it needs is loads of direction layered on top. I shoot what’s in front of me, as it happens. The in between bits, the reactions, the moments you didn’t plan. That’s what actually feels real when you look back on it. If we do step away for a few minutes, it’s quick, relaxed, and just using what’s already there rather than forcing anything.
PLANNING A WEDDING AT BERWICK LODGE
One of the biggest advantages of Berwick Lodge is how relaxed it feels.
That means:
- a more laid back timeline
- guests naturally spreading out
- less pressure on the day to stick to something rigid
It also means you don’t need to over plan photos. A short list of group shots if you want them, then the rest can just happen naturally around everything else. That’s always where the best moments come from.
