I'm Stu, a documentary wedding photographer covering Bath, Bristol, Somerset and the wider South West. Over the last 11 years I've photographed almost 600 weddings, capturing relaxed, natural moments for couples who want to enjoy their day without feeling like they're constantly posing for the camera. My work relies on couples being easygoing and enjoying themselves. The less they worry about the photography, the more I’m able to photograph the real stuff, the people, the relationships, the laughter, the chaos and all those little moments you didn’t even realise were happening. I don’t see myself as an artist. I see myself as a custodian of memories. I’m not at your wedding to create it, style it or turn it into something it isn’t.
I’m there to preserve it.
From city centre celebrations in Bath and Bristol to countryside weddings across Somerset, I photograph weddings of all shapes and sizes. My approach is simple, relaxed and unobtrusive, allowing you to spend more time with the people you love and less time standing in front of a camera.

I have 11 years of photographing weddings under my belt and my personal investment in capturing weddings comes from the belief that the best photographs are rarely created or elevated, they’re experienced. My job is to give you the freedom to enjoy your day and preserve everything that unfolds along the way.

My aim is longevity when it comes to the way I edit images. I want your photos to look incredible now, but I also want them to still feel beautiful years down the line. I know that couples have worked hard to choose the colours, decor and overall feel of your wedding. My editing is always sympathetic to that. I like colour. I like contrast. I like the odd black and white image when it adds something to the story. I love natural light and flash. But most of all, I want your gallery to feel honest, considered, complimentary and full of feeling, not overly edited, not trend led, and not detached from the day you actually had.
UNOBTRUSIVE & HUAMAN
For most of the day, you'll barely notice I'm there. I'll be quietly capturing moments as they happen, helping people feel relaxed and at ease rather than feeling like they're being photographed. When a little direction is needed, whether that's family photos, couple portraits or organising a few people, I'll step in and keep things simple, relaxed and natural. The result is beautiful photographs that feel authentic to your day.

From big country house parties where everyone rips up the dance floor to quiet vows with a handful of guests, I photograph weddings across Bath, Bristol, Somerset, the Cotswolds and the South West. Travel of up to two hours is included in every package.
I work best with light-hearted, easy-going couples who just want their day to look like them. About 95% of my coverage is documentary: the moments with your bridesmaids, your family's reactions, the laughs you didn't know I caught. The other 5% is portraits and family groups. I'll give you gentle direction if you're not used to being in front of a camera, but I'll never ask anyone to fake a smile. My editing is classic rather than trendy, so your photos will still feel right in 30 years.
There are some venues I keep coming back to, including the Guildhall in Bath, St Audries Park, Tortworth Court and Brympton House. Each has its own page of real weddings.
Prices start at £650 for a two-hour elopement. Full days (10 hours) start at £2,250, or £2,000 midweek. You can see every package on my pricing page.
