Shooting Marcus and Lydia’s wedding at Elmore Court on the 28th of December 2022 was an absolute pleasure. The venue itself is truly stunning, with its beautiful architectural design and picturesque surroundings, it provided to be back at this perfect backdrop for the couple’s special day.

From the moment I arrived at the venue, I knew that it was going to be a special day. Despite the rain the light was beautiful and the couple were clearly thrilled to be getting married at such a stunning location. Marcus and Lydia were an absolute delight to work with, they were relaxed and fun, which made my job all the more enjoyable.

The ceremony itself was truly breathtaking. The couple exchanged their vows in St John the Baptist Church in Elmore itself, just down the road from Elmore Court, which provided the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. The atmosphere was so romantic, with friends and family all gathered together to witness the couple’s special moment.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the Great Hall, one of my favourite rooms at the venue, which provided the perfect opportunity for some candid shots. The couple were in great spirits, laughing and joking with their guests, and it was a real pleasure to capture the genuine joy and happiness on their faces.

As the day progressed, the light began to fade, and the Gillyflower was ready to be lit with an array of candles, and with a nod to Christmas for their decor, it created a truly magical atmosphere. The couple and their guests then sat down to enjoy a delicious meal in the grand dining room, which provided a perfect setting for some more formal shots. Marcus was concerned during our call the week before the wedding about how the images would look in the evening in this room, due to it being a winter wedding. It's a tough room to use a flash in as untimely there is a glass ceiling, and knowing Elmore court as I do, there's absolutely no where to bounce a flash off. But... as I’m a videographer as well, I normally have a set of constant video light’s available the car, which worked perfect to ensure the light was just right for the wedding breakfast.

Throughout the day, I had the freedom to move around the venue and capture shots from different angles, which was fantastic. The couple were also very relaxed about the photography, which meant that I was able to capture candid and natural shots that truly reflected the atmosphere of the day.

Overall, shooting Marcus and Lydia’s wedding at Elmore Court was an absolute pleasure. The venue is truly stunning, the couple were a joy to work with, and the atmosphere was beautiful, It was a privilege to be a part of such a special day, and I have no doubt that the couple will cherish the memories captured in these photographs for years to come.
