If you’re dreaming of an elegant yet relaxed wedding set in the heart of Somerset countryside, look no further than Farleigh House. On a beautifully fresh April day, Christine and Jeremy gathered their nearest and dearest to celebrate their marriage at one of the most breathtaking venues just outside of Bath, and what a day it was.
Watch as they say “I do” in the historic halls of Farleigh House, share champagne in the gardens, and light up the dance floor with their first dance.
Christine and Jeremy’s story began with a spark on the dance floor, quite literally. They first met at a dinner dance, where Christine, in her words, “went full dance mode,” swishing her skirt and catching Jeremy’s attention. After the event, they lost touch, but Jeremy wasn’t giving up that easily. He reached out via the organisers, asking them to pass his number to “Chrissy from Surrey who sat on the Boston table.” Romantic persistence at its best!
Jeremy proposed on a quiet Monday afternoon at Claverton Down, the starting point of Bath Skyline parkrun, which holds a special place in their hearts. It was peaceful, meaningful, and entirely them. From there, they celebrated with champagne on the roof terrace at Hall & Woodhouse and dinner at All Bar One two of their favourite Bath spots.

Christine and Jeremy already had a connection to Farleigh House thanks to Bath Rugby events they’d attended there. The incredible architecture, rich history, and serene countryside setting had already left a lasting impression. When they saw a poster for weddings at Farleigh House during a match at The Rec, they instantly knew: this was the one.
The moment they began planning, it just felt right. And it truly was the perfect choice.

Their wedding was a day built around connection — laughter, conversation, a few heartfelt tears, and dancing (of course). With 55 guests joining them for the daytime and 13 more in the evening, it was intimate, warm and full of energy.
Bridal prep took place right at Farleigh House, where Christine got ready with five close loved ones before walking down the aisle to meet Jeremy at 1pm. The ceremony was simple and heartfelt, followed by drinks, hugs, and sunshine in the grounds.

At 3.15pm, the newlyweds made their grand entrance to dinner — speeches were sprinkled throughout the meal, led by Christine’s brother Steve, Jeremy, Best Man Terry, and Christine herself. Each one was personal and funny, offering little glimpses into their life together and the journey that brought them here.

After dinner we wandered the grounds for some quiet portraits among the towering trees and historic stonework. There’s a certain magic to Farleigh House in the spring — it feels timeless. Later in the evening, Christine and Jeremy cut their cake at 7.45pm, followed by a brilliant first dance at 7.50pm. With the dance floor open and a DJ from @prescott_entertainment spinning the tunes, the party really got going.
