Planning your wedding at Bristol Registry Office? Nestled in the heart of the city on Corn Street, it’s one of Bristol’s most iconic ceremony venues. Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony for just the two of you or celebrating with family and friends before heading on to your reception, it’s a fantastic place to get married. As a documentary wedding photographer, I love photographing weddings here because everything is within easy walking distance, making it effortless to create beautiful, natural photographs without ever feeling like you’ve left your wedding behind.
Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Bristol Registry Office
Every wedding at Bristol Registry Office feels different, and that’s exactly what I love about it. Some couples keep things simple with a handful of guests before heading off for lunch together, while others continue the celebrations at venues across Bristol. Whatever your plans, the location offers so much variety without needing to travel far. The building itself has plenty of character, and once your ceremony is over you’re already surrounded by fantastic locations for relaxed portraits, meaning you can enjoy beautiful photographs without disappearing from your guests for ages.
Natural Couple Portraits Around Bristol Registry Office
One question I’m asked all the time is: “Where should we go for our couple photographs?” The honest answer is, I don’t really work from a checklist of locations.
Instead, I keep things relaxed and work with whatever feels right on the day. Sometimes that’s simply wandering the streets around Bristol Registry Office, sometimes we’ll make use of the beautiful architecture on Corn Street, and other times we’ll head towards Queen Square or Bristol Harbourside if it suits your timeline. The most important thing isn’t where the photographs are taken. It’s that you actually enjoy those few quiet moments together and the photographs feel like you.
How Long Do We Need?
Most couples getting married at Bristol Registry Office choose between two and four hours of photography. Two hours is usually perfect if you’d like coverage of guests arriving, your ceremony, confetti, family photographs and a relaxed walk for couple portraits afterwards. If you’re continuing the celebrations elsewhere, longer coverage allows me to capture more of the story, from drinks with your guests through to speeches and the atmosphere at your reception. I’m always happy to help work out what coverage best suits your plans.
