Hybrid Wedding Photography & Film
If you’ve seen my Hybrid package and thought how great valued this option is and wondered how I manage both photography and videography at the same time on a wedding day, here’s a simple rundown of how it works, what you get, and if it's suited for you wedding plans.
Hybrid Film at North Cadbury Court
HOW IT WORKS
I shoot with two main cameras throughout the day, one that captures both photos and short video clips, and another purely for video. During the ceremony and speeches, I’ll also use discreet static cameras to record key angles. It’s a careful balance, but it means you’ll still get moments beautifully documented while I stay fully focused on telling your story through both formats.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
- A set of photographs, 300+ just the same quality you'd receive as you’d I were shoot photography on it's own.
- A highlight film of around three minutes, capturing the key moments of your day.
- A relaxed and natural experience without the fuss of a full film crew.
- Potential full ceremony and speeches films (not part of the standard package and sold after the wedding if successfully shot. ( Remember I'm shooting this all solo )
WHO IT SUITS
The Hybrid option works best when everything feels connected and accessible, one venue for the whole day, no travel between venues, and a natural flow between each part of the venue. It’s perfect if:
- You’re having everything in one location, getting ready preparations, ceremony, and reception.
- You’d love a highlight film to go alongside your photos just capturing the key moments.
- You want minimal fuss and love the idea of one person quietly capturing it all.
- You prefer things to feel fluid and not overly staged or structured with too many cameras pointing at you.
WHO IT'S NOT FOR
It’s about where you’re getting married & about how the day runs. After years of shooting this option, Hybrid only really works when everything is fluid and easy to move between. So it's not for you if:
- You are planning a church wedding. Unfortunately I don't shoot this option for church weddings.
- Weddings spread across different locations, like getting ready at home, then to a ceremony venue, then a to a separate venue for the reception. Travelling between sites makes it impossible to give both photo and video the full attention they deserve. So there for, I don't offer it to couples planning a wedding it in more than one location.
- Your venue is tricky logistically, locations such as city centres, large complex venues, or tight and spread-out venues, where things happen in multiple areas at once.
Hybrid works best when everything’s happening within reach and all at the same venue.
