Weddings in Poole

Some weddings just feel different, like they’re not trying to be anything other than exactly what they are. That was Leanne and Lewis’ day through and through.

I first met Leanne through work, she’s a brilliant photographer herself, so when she got in touch about having me film her own wedding, I was genuinely touched. We’d worked together before at a wedding and clicked straight away, so to be asked to capture her story on video felt like such a compliment.

From the start, Leanne was clear on what they wanted, something personal, relaxed and focused on their family. The Guildhall in Poole for her and Lewis ticked every box. It’s full of natural light, with high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers and that rare combo of elegance and simplicity. With just 25 of their closest people in the room, the atmosphere was exactly right, full of warmth and love.

Before she even made her entrance, Leanne had planned a surprise. A voice recording from their three children played out for Lewis as he waited at the end of the aisle, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Riley, her eldest, proudly walked her in, Beau twirled as the flower girl and little River brought his own cheeky charm. I included this recording in their full ceremony edit for them.

As someone who offers Wedding Videography, moments like these are what it’s all about. Nothing forced, nothing staged, just real emotion.

But the even more magic came later. After the pizza, the cake and all the hugs, we headed off to Sandbanks Beach, the very same beach where Lewis proposed. It’s a place that means so much to them as a family, and they’d always imagined ending their wedding day there. As the sun dropped and a breezy evening came in, they read personal vows to one another, just the two of them, with the sea behind and the beautiful wind blowing into the Dorset coast, It felt like a scene from a film, but it was real life, and it was beautiful.

There were no speeches, just a simple few words from Leanne's sister, no big entertainment, no first dance, and none of it was missed. The focus was exactly where it should be, on their story, their journey and their family.

Leanne and Lewis have built something strong together, ten years in, and it was a privilege to witness a day that celebrated all of that with such honesty and heart.

Heres their beautiful highlight'f film I created for them.
